This article is so very true. I wish more boys were taught about their body and sex. This is an interesting read that describes the process of dealing with sex from boyhood to manhood in great detail. My husband said that this was his experience exactly.
I really liked this article. I found it very similar to my own background actually in regards to what/how I was taught too. (conservative relgious mother). And given that we have four boys. I sent it to my husband to read. I thought it would be a good topic of discussion.
That is definitely an important thing to talk about, especially with your 4 boys.
Sadly some of the failure to teach boys about their bodies is due to so many of them being raised by only women. Single parenting whether by choice or not isn’t the issue. Men who are not there for their sons in general lead to more and more problems all the time. I know i cannot be a father to my son, and it makes me sad. He needs his father. Little girls need their fathers too. The need a man in their world who loves them unconditionally or they will seek it, often in unhealthy ways.
The failing family structure is creating more brokenness with each generation. As a society we are trying to force the role into the schools to care for these kids in a way that only a family can. Its a vicious cycle and it saddens me every time I think about it.
